Camp NEW You @ WVU is an innovative program designed to help youth and their parents identify and practice lifestyle changes that will assist in reducing unhealthy body weight through increased physical activity and good nutrition.
The WVU Eye Institute is offering summer camps for children with low vision and blindness. The first will be held June 15-19 in Bridgeport at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church. The second, which is an overnight camp, will be held July 13-15 at North Bend State Park in Cairo. Day campers are welcome to attend the Cairo camp as well.
This camp held at the WVU Creative Arts Center June 18-21 is open to all high school flutists who are entering grades 9-12. Instructors include WVU flute professors Dr. Francesca Arnone and Dr. Laurie Glencross and WVU student faculty. More Information
The 2009 Junior Fire Fighter Camp June 27-July 2, 2009, at WVU Jackson’s Mill will provide classroom and practical training to further participants knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA) in fire fighting and emergency operations. WVU Fire Service Extension’s Mobile Structural Fire Trainer and Mobile Aircraft Fire Trainer will be utilized for practical training.
This program encourages economically disadvantaged youth ages 10-16 to consider attending college. NYSP will be held at WVU June 25-July 24 from 8:30 a.m.-12:50 p.m., Monday through Friday (camp will not meet July 3). Free physicals, which are required for participation in NYSP, will be offered Thursday, June 25.

Sponsored by WVNano, This free five-day camp for rising seventh and eighth graders is set for June 22-26 at locations throughout the WVU downtown campus. Each day’s activities run from 1-5 p.m. and will focus on topics such as magic with chemistry, forensics and biometrics, nanotechnology, robotics and energy and propulsion/geology. More Information
This weekly day camp for ages 6-11 on the WVU campus with focus on healthy fun! Activities include swimming, games, roller blading, hiking, nutrition, crafts and many other activities conducted on and off-campus including field trips. Parent volunteers are welcome! The WV Motor Development Center also offers several recreation classes, such as ToddlerSplash and ChoosySwim, during the summer months.
